Hannes Beinert, another friend who helped immensely during my collection&#8217;s &#8220;acquisition phase&#8221;.<\/li><li><a href=\"sobotik@stanfordalumni.org\">John Sobotik<\/a>, a good friend at Wisconsin DOT<\/li><li>Dave Fehr, who passed away in early 2019, and John Kendall, friends and workmates from Wisconsin DOT.  Dave did very good work with stained glass, and we have a couple of his pieces.<\/li><li><a href=\"pete@mooney.ws\">Pete Mooney<\/a>, a friend at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoofersailing.org\/\">Hoofers Sailing Club<\/a>.<\/li><li>I have also contributed to, and benefited considerably from the document archive at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitsavers.org\/\">www.bitsavers.org<\/a> .<br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other collectors and collections:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.piercefuller.com\/collect\/index.html\">Paul Pierce&#8217;s Museum<\/a>:   Paul has a varied collection, including unit record equipment and mainframes (the best collection of those I am aware of) and minicomputers.   Recently Paul has made significant donations from his collection to other museums.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ultranet.com\/~crfriend\/museum\">Carl Friend&#8217;s Museum<\/a>:  Carl has a very good collection of minicomputers. Also, he has taken the time to provide much more explanation than I have on my pages so far (but maybe my new site will improve things.  \ud83d\ude09 )<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuhs.org\/\">The UNIX Heritage Society<\/a>:  If you are &#8220;into&#8221; the origins and history of Unix, this is a &#8220;must visit&#8221;.<\/li><li>Professor\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.uiowa.edu\/~jones\">Douglas W. Jones<\/a>\u00a0of the University of Iowa has a good bit of information on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.uiowa.edu\/~jones\/pdp8\">PDP-8&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0and a pointer to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hpmuseum.org\/\">Museum of HP Calculators<\/a>.  The PDP-8 information contains pointers to several good sources of information. The HP pointer was the first I followed to the HP Calculator Museum.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/highgate.comm.sfu.ca\/pdp8\/\">Kevin McQuiggin&#8217;s PDP-8 Page at Highgate<\/a>:   A great collection of scanned documents. <\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdp8.net\/\">David Gesswein&#8217;s PDP-8 page<\/a>:  At one time there was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdp8.net\/run2.shtml\">PDP-8 online<\/a>, but it seems to be offline as of this writing.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/s100computers.com\/\">The S100Computers page<\/a>:  John Monohan and crew design some pretty nice boards that can help with managing and maintaining old S100 systems.  There is also a pretty good store of documents on the site:  follow the links from individual boards listed under &#8220;S-100 Boards&#8221;.<\/li><li>Donald Whittemore has a nice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibmjunkman.com\/IBMJunkmanPortal\/\">collection of 80 column card images<\/a> (not decks: 4227 individual cards, all different!)<br><br><br><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some of my friends: Paul Pierce, a friend and fellow collector of old computers (Web page seems to be down at this time) R.
